Dr. Raamy Majeed is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of Cambridge. Prior to moving to Cambridge, he held Lectureships at the University of Otago and Lehigh University. His PhD awarded in 2012, is from the University of Sydney. He works primarily on the Philosophy of Mind and Cognition.
Critical thinking is the process by which you are able to think clearly and rationally about to what to do and believe. This session focuses on the aspects of this process in this digital era.

Mr. Jawish Hameed is a Technology generalist and systems engineer with academic background in electronics and machine intelligence. He has completed Masters in Engineering in Artificial Intelligence and Cybernetics from University of Reading, UK. He is the co-founder of Kickstart movement, ‘science emmenah’ blog, and also developed and maintains the online Dhivehi dictionary, radheef.com, among many other projects.
Science has granted us an ever deepening understanding of ourselves and the universe. Engineering has shaped and given us technology to gain mastery over the physical world. This talk looks at science and engineering; it’s rich history and achievements, its role in solving the challenging problems humanity currently face and its pertinence in the future economic and intellectual progress of Maldives. Dr. Fawaz Shareef currently is the Vice Chancellor of Maldives National University. He formerly worked as the Director of the Institute for Research and Innovation at Villa College. Dr. Fawaz holds a PhD in Information Systems specializing in Computer-based Distance Education from Massey University, New Zealand. He has worked in several research projects and has published in a number of international publications. Dr. Fawaz also worked at the Universal College of Learning, New Zealand as an eLearning Advisor as well as a Lecturer at Massey University, New Zealand.
Millennials, also known as Generation Y or the Net Generation, are the demographic cohort that directly follows Generation X. Of recent, there is a great deal of discussion surrounding the millenials. The millenials have been immersed in a world infused with networked and digital technologies. It is claimed that they think differently, they learn differently, they exhibit different social characteristics and have different expectations about life and learning. This talk hopes to capture the essence of this.
